A large group of hungry vultures circled in slow-motion high in the air over the dense jungle-ruins of Zul'Aman. The hungry creatures were well-attuned to signs of an imminent feast, their beady eyes focused intently on the lone traveller that was now making his way to the gates of the troll city. Wherever the tall, thin man and his horse would show up, there would be meals aplenty for the birds. However, currently Death stopped in his tracks. "Dear gods, not her again," he muttered. Even though she was one of his best customers, these collections were always a bit troublesome to him. Few people seemed to *revel* so much in dying as this one.
Lilea Nolt stood next to her corpse, exuding an air of great impatience. The spirit chicken next to her clucked merrily as it saw Death approach, greeting him as if he were an old friend.
"Res me, idiot!", the gnome yelled, her hollow voice echoing through the great beyond. She squinted, trying hard to peer through the shady veil and look at her fellows who were still in battle.
Death politely coughed. "Miss Nolt... how long has it been this time, ten minutes?"
"Naggirath!" she waved at him cheerfully, without once looking away, then suddenly her face lit up with joy.
"Quick! Quick!" From her pocket she produced a large paper card and held it out to Death.
Sighing, the latter took his quill and in a fluent motion marked off yet another box. This was all so undignified... Other people at least had the decency to die once and STAY dead; this one already had the mug and t-shirt and was currently saving up for the towel.
As Lilea's ghost disappeared, drawn back to her body once again, Death gently patted his horse.
"Time to go home again" he nodded.
But then, from the world of the living, he heard a shrill, high-pitched, excited voice.
"PYYYROOOOO PUUULLL"
The horse whinnied, and Death nodded.
"Yes. Perhaps we wait two more minutes. Might as well get that towel ready..."
